www.mustardtree.org.uk

Since 1994, Mustard Tree has transformed the lives of people in Greater Manchester who are trapped in poverty or homelessness, by enabling them to gain the skills and self-confidence they need to reach their full potential.

Our focus is on tackling both the causes and consequences of poverty by offering:

  • Provision: When people are in crisis we offer food, clothing and furniture.
  • Progression: We offer life-skills, training, volunteering, education, mentoring and employment opportunities to our beneficiaries
  • Partnership: We work collaboratively with individuals, agencies, businesses and community groups to broker long-term solutions to the poverty and inequality in our city.

The Booth Centre is here to bring about positive change in the lives of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and help them plan for and realise a better future.

We do this by providing activities to help people rebuild their confidence and learn something new while having fun. We run arts, employment and skills sessions daily and offer everyone a healthy breakfast and lunch. Advice is available to help people find accommodation and overcome the practical difficulties they are facing.

We work with people with convictions and people who have experience of homelessness, mental health problems and substance misuse. We have a centre on Swan Street in Ancoats where we run training courses, work experience and a catering social enterprise. Our projects enable 1000 people a year to build the skills and experience they need to move from problems in the past to a meaningful and fulfilled new life.

www.lifeshare.org.uk/

Lifeshare is a voluntary organisation established to help meet the needs of homeless and vulnerable people in Manchester and Salford. The first point of contact is with people on the streets, offering practical assistance, support and information. From this point we offer continued assistance that enables people to secure suitable accommodation, support them in maintaining their tenancies, and help them to access initiatives that carry their lives forward.
